ONE OF THE MOST AMBITIOUS AND INDUSTRIOUS AFRICAN LEADERS OF THE 21ST CENTURY.

To find a favorable response to this title as Africans we need to make a very research which has finally led us to a very small country in Africa in terms of dimension but very great in terms of population. This country is today governed by President seikh professor Alhaji Dr. Yahya AJJ Jammeh. The achievements of president jammeh is amired by all and that is why we chose to write this article on some of his achievements. These achievements among other things includes all that has been realized since the accession of the president to power in 1994. These achievements include also the clarion call of The president for all to go back to the land. This implies that all citizens should be willing to work for the development of the country.

President jammeh is the only African leader who works on the farm

Thus leading by example.This is a grat initiative on the part of His Excellency the president.

The second achievement is the area of health since numerous hospitals have been built in The Gambia since accession of president jammeh to power. Agriculture has also seen gigantic advancement in the tenure of the president not forgetting of course another extremely important sector which is education and the establishment of The Universiy of the Gambia which is second to none in the country.

The cultural sector also saw marked improvement as well as communication sector efficient transport system centre stage evidenced by the magnificent evolution of The Gambia International Airport.

The infrastructure of the country has been greatly improved by the construction of quality bridges across parts of the river Gambia like The Sankuli Kunda bridge and the provision of wonderful ferry boats at Barra crossing. Electricity has been provided country wide which realy facilitates life and greatly improved the media.

The provision of clean drinking and potable water by the installation of taps all over.

We have seen enhancement unparallaled in the religious sector since mosques have been constructed in all govern ment non government institutions in the country. The president has exercised zero tolerance corrupton drug trafficking and the like. Women empowerment also took centre stage under president jammeh.

All these and much much more goes without saying that presdent jammeh merits our title the best African leader of the millennium.

These are the major steps that all countries working towards development rely on.

We are not writing this article out of poltical influence or any other aspect. We simply intend to express reality. We are also Gambian citizens and are very much interested in the development of our dear motherland.

We should always ask our selves the question what can we do for our country and not what the country can do for us. Every body should be ready to contribute his quarter towards nation building.

Here in conclusion precisely to be able to realize the achievements made by president jammeh we should all take stock of developments that has been enumerated since 1994.

In our next article we will try to go into the countrys history geography political development since independence. We shall also look at the economy and shall discover how the country witnessed rapid development after the elapse of colonial and neocolonial era and with the aumption of the president Seikh Professor Alhaji Dr.
